


ABOUT
Carlsbad Area Art Association is a membership based organization. It was founded in 1964 by Margaret B. Allen, Mona Martin, Doris Ogden Kimbly, Dorothy Lorentzen, Richard Miller and Mollie Merchant. Just four years later, CAAA and was incorporated in January of 1968. These innovative and creative leaders paved the way for what is now a thriving, well established organization in the community.

MISSION
CAAA is dedicated to the promotion and advancement of original, creative fine arts and crafts in Carlsbad and surrounding areas by means of exhibitions, lectures, art appreciation, workshops, and to elevate the level of art by all means available to CAAA.

RESOURCES
A passion and a dream in the hearts of 5 artist members of Carlsbad Area Art Association gave birth to The Artist Gallery, located in the MainStreet District, at 120 S. Canyon Street. This co-op gallery features the artwork of local artists who have been carefully hand-selected for their talent, unique expression and ability to create remarkable art.

In alignment with the mission, CAAA also provides a makers' space studio, in Carlsbad, The Pottery Studio, located at 404 School St. Members are welcome to utilize the studio to develop their art and create inspiring works of clay.
